Right now, I have accepted a job as an Operational Support Technician with the FBI after graduation. In that role, I would be doing a lot of grunt work (mail, trash, filing, etc.), but also working in the Operations Center fielding calls from the public about potential crimes. If that is the route I go down, I'm happy that the work I will be doing will actually be important in helping people. That being said, I also have an internship next quarter at the Seattle Children's Psychiatric and Behavioral Medicine Unit, where I will be working with coaches to help children develop coping skills. I also decided to spend my last two quarters writing for the school newspaper, potentially opening another occupational avenue for me in journalism. Beyond that, I have also applied for an additional 25 jobs at 7 different companies in various entry-level roles, including in education. So, I have options.
Eventually, I hope to go back to graduate school in some capacity, maybe to work in counseling or higher education. That all being said, my college experience has taught me that nothing is set in stone and that you need to be able to go with the flow. Whatever comes for me next, I will continue to learn and grow, and I will be doing my best to help other people with my work.
