These are all photos from the time when the demolition experts at the FBI demonstrated some of their techniques to us. These photos serve to be a sharp contrast for the actual work I did everyday over the summer, which consisted of sitting around, reading FBI articles, begging people for work, and counting how many times my elderly co-worker burped (which got all the way up to triple digits!). Although these pictures are hardly representative of the work I did every other day , it was still cool to learn about another kind of work within the FBI...even if it's not one I anticipate pursuing!
This is the essay I wrote to summarize my summer internship experience. In essence, even though the internship work I did was painfully underwhelming, I got the chance to talk to a lot of amazing people doing important work. Overall, that's what I appreciated most about this internship: the people. There were so many awesome people working there that genuinely wanted to mentor me, whether it be through a career at the FBI or not. It reminded me that there are jobs out there that do meaningful work while getting paid. It made me realize what I value in a potential employer.
